Here is a bit of a local school....
lots of sweet kids in matching uniforms
using wooden blocks the teachers painted for sorting, counting, etc. They also used old cardboard boxes to make flashcards with sounds and shapes.
I could use some Arabic lessons but as I pointed out I am still working on language number 2. Some day....
religion class

getting ready for game time
I had to get in on the shoe game...and was beaten kabisa in case you are wondering!
listening to the resourcefulness of these amazing teachers
when it was time to leave as was evident by our sweat covered faces and two very tired Wazungu kids the teachers sent these students to load our zawadi (gifts) of spinach, limes, and brooms in our car to thank us for coming to their school. And yeah, not sure what is up with the Evy Imani undies shot- although she is a proud girl that she wears only chupis these days so maybe just showing off a bit.
The kids gave us a gift of singing to us. Adorable as they proudly displayed their songs while proud teachers cheered them on. And we returned the gift by teaching them a song.....
this is good work I get to be a small part of.
